About the Role:
We’re seeking a Head of Payments to lead and scale our global payments strategy, ensuring seamless transaction flows, robust PSP integrations, and efficient funding operations. This role requires a visionary leader who can balance strategic planning with hands-on problem-solving, while driving innovation in payment solutions. You will own the entire payments ecosystem, manage key provider relationships, and collaborate across teams to deliver a world-class payment experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Team Management

Define and execute the company’s payments strategy, aligning with business objectives and growth plans.

Lead, mentor, and expand the payments team, fostering a culture of operational excellence and innovation.

Establish KPIs and performance metrics for payment operations and ensure continuous improvement.
Funding Operations & Oversight

Oversee and optimize global funding processes, including deposits, withdrawals, and internal transfers.

Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of PSP transactions and settlement cycles.

Implement robust controls to mitigate operational and financial risks.
Payment Solution Onboarding & Optimization

Drive the end-to-end onboarding of new PSPs and alternative payment methods, including due diligence, technical integration, and compliance alignment.

Continuously evaluate and optimize existing PSP relationships to improve cost efficiency, approval rates, and user experience.
Risk Management & Compliance

Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

Implement and monitor fraud prevention strategies and chargeback management processes.
Technical Oversight & Troubleshooting

Serve as the escalation point for complex payment-related technical issues.

Partner with engineering teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of payment systems.
Analytics & Reporting

Analyze transaction data to identify trends, optimize payment flows, and reduce friction points.

Deliver regular executive-level reports on payment performance, costs, and strategic opportunities.
Cross- Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Customer Support teams to enhance payment workflows and overall user experience.

Represent the payments function in strategic initiatives, product launches, and market expansions.
Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in payment operations, PSP management, or payment strategy, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Deep understanding of global payment ecosystems, PSP APIs, and settlement processes.

Proven track record of managing high-volume payment operations and scaling payment infrastructure.

Strong knowledge of fraud prevention, chargeback mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks.

Experience with PSPs & cashiers such as Praxis, WooCommerce, and crypto gateways is a strong plus.

Familiarity with reconciliation tools, payment dashboards, and transaction reporting.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills:

Experience in fintech, prop trading, or financial services.

Knowledge of digital wallets, crypto payments, and global acquiring banks.

SQL or data analytics experience for payment performance insights.
