Social Trading - Copiers

How can I unlink my Social trading account?

To unlink your Social Trading account, go to ‘My Portfolio’, click ‘Actions’, and select ‘Suspend’. Be sure to choose the appropriate action for any remaining trades before proceeding.

Can I manually trade while Copy trading?

Yes, you can log in to the MT4 platform using your Social Trading credentials and place manual trades. You can also adjust trades that have been executed by the provider.

Which Social trading account is used to access the social trading platform?

Your main account is used to log in. One authentication gives you access to all accounts linked to your Social Trading profile.

Can I be a Follower and Signal Provider at the same time?

One Social Trading account can only be used as either a follower or a provider. However, you can create two separate profiles under your Taurex account, one for following and one for providing.

How many subscriptions can I have per Social Trading account?

Each trading account can have only one subscription.

What is Risk Management?

Risk Management works like a Stop Loss / Take Profit at the subscription level. If the total profit/loss across copied trades hits a defined threshold, the system will take action on the trades and/or the subscription. Follower actions include:

Trading Actions:
Close All – Close all open copies
Close Unprofitable – Close the most unprofitable trade(s) until the floating loss is within limits
Close All Unprofitable – Close all losing positions
Keep All – No action; leave all open trades

Subscription Actions:
Keep – Continue copying
Suspend – Pause the subscription
Unsubscribe – Archive the subscription

Stop-Level Types:
Floating Loss Level: Triggered if floating PnL (unrealised losses) exceeds the set threshold.

Example:
Position 1: -$500
Position 2: +$300
Threshold: $200 loss → Action is triggered

Total Loss Level: Triggered if realised losses (since subscription start) exceed the set limit.

Example:
Position 1: -$600
Position 2: +$300
Threshold: $300 loss → Action is triggered

Total Profit Level: Triggered if realised profit reaches the set level.

Example:
Position 1: +$1000
Position 2: -$400
Threshold: $600 profit → Action is triggered

By default, Total Loss and Total Profit levels only consider closed trades, but the system can be configured to also include floating PnL.

In all cases, the system will send email notifications to the follower when thresholds are reached.

What is Correction?

The Correction section defines how to process the volume of a copy after it’s calculated using the Strategy settings. This is the final step before platform-level restrictions apply. Correction options include:

Max Open Volume: Set the maximum volume allowed per copied trade.
Action: If the Max open volume threshold is reached, the copy will be either Skipped or Scaled down to the specified volume.

Example:

If Autoscale results in a very large volume due to high follower equity, the follower can limit the risk by setting a Max Open Volume.
Note: A follower may combine the Correction option with their selected Strategy.

What is the Strategy?

The Strategy section defines how a follower’s copy differs from the provider’s original trade. This includes volume scaling and direction.

Volume scaling options:

Autoscale: The copy’s volume is calculated based on the ratio of the follower’s equity to the provider’s equity at the time of copying.
(Copy volume = (Follower Compared Value / Provider Compared Value) × Ratio Multiplier)

Multiply: The copy’s volume is a multiple of the provider’s original volume.
(e.g. x2, x3, x0.5, etc.)

Lots Proportion: Volumes of copies depend on the follower account’s current equity. This copy type allows the follower to control the risk entirely from their side. It does not depend on the provider’s equity, balance, or trade volume.

Copied volume = Volume per step × int(Follower Equity / Lots step)

The follower decides how much volume to copy for each “step” of their own equity, and the system calculates how many full “steps” fit into the follower’s equity and multiplies that by the defined volume per step.

Fixed: The copied trade always uses a predefined, fixed volume, regardless of the provider’s original lot size.
Direction: This setting is available to followers only if permitted in Follower Configuration → Permissions → Reverse Strategy.
Direct: The copy is in the same direction as the provider’s original trade (Buy → Buy, Sell → Sell).
Reverse: The copy is in the opposite direction (Buy → Sell, Sell → Buy).
Small Volumes Handling: The system will round up volumes that are close to the minimum lot size. However, very small volumes will be skipped. To copy these, enable ‘Risk by rounding to the min lot’, but be aware this may increase margin usage.

What are Provider Filters?

In this section, followers can set specific filters for their subscriptions. These filters are applied to trades that will be copied from the provider’s original trades. If a trade does not meet the filter conditions, it will be skipped. Filters are applied per trade.

Types of Provider Filters:

Direction: Only the designated direction (Buy/Sell) will be copied. All others are skipped.
Note: It’s not recommended to use this without fully understanding the provider’s strategy.

Minimum lots: Trades with volumes lower than the specified amount will be skipped.

Maximum lots: Trades with volumes higher or equal to the specified amount will be skipped.

What account types can I use for copying and what are the currencies?

The account types available in the Social Trading section under ‘Trading Accounts’ are:

  • Standard Zero: Minimum deposit is $100. Spread is 1.6 for EUR/USD
  • Pro Zero: Minimum deposit is $500. Spread is 1.2 for EUR/USD
  • Raw Bronze: Minimum deposit is $500. Commission is $3/side

Followers can only subscribe using the same account type as the provider.  The available currencies are USD, EUR, and USD cent accounts (USC).

How do I copy my provider?

To activate copying, go to ‘My Portfolio’ in the ‘Social Trading’ tab. Click the arrow next to the provider’s name, then click on ‘Actions’ to activate the subscription. Make sure to fill in the Provider Filters, Subscription Strategy, Correction, and Risk Management sections before activating it.
