There are a few common reasons your VPS might not be working as expected: 

• Connection issues: Your internet, VPN, or firewall may be blocking access.
  → Try turning off any VPNs and connect using a stable connection or a mobile hotspot. 

• Software issues: MT4/MT5 might not be running properly, or Windows updates may have restarted the VPS.

If your VPS is deactivated, your data and settings will remain available for one week. After that period, all details will be permanently deleted, and you’ll need to reapply for a new VPS. 

We recommend keeping Windows updates enabled on your VPS to ensure you have the latest security patches and performance improvements. Windows updates will install automatically, or you can manually check for updates through the Windows Update settings. Keeping your VPS up to date helps maintain optimal performance and security.

The VPS Monitor app is available on your VPS desktop and is used to control and monitor various features of your VPS. It helps keep your applications running smoothly, even when you are not actively connected. You can: 

• Set Auto Login 

• Set Auto Startup for apps and files 

• Receive alerts and notifications 

• Monitor VPS performance 

Features & how to use them 

1. Auto Login 

• Automatically logs in your VPS after a restart. 

• To enable: enter your VPS username and password (as provided in your email) and click Enable. 

     2.Auto Startup 

• Set which apps or files should automatically start when your VPS is running. 

• Example: add an app that is not on your VPS desktop, such as MT4 or MT5. 

• Reason to use it: if a platform like MT4 closes by mistake, the VPS Monitor will automatically restart it within seconds, keeping your apps running even if you are not connected. 

• How to set it up: 

• Open the Monitor app → click Auto Startup → click Add New. 

• Select the file you want to auto-start (e.g., MT4 → terminal.exe). 
• It will be displayed in the list and start automatically whenever the VPS runs. 

     3. Alerts section 

• Enter the email address where you want to receive alerts and notifications about your VPS performance. 
• Click Save to activate. 

     4. Monitoring section 

• Specify which alerts you want to receive on your email. 

• Available alert types: 

• Programme crash 

• Programme unresponsive 

• System reboot 

• High RAM usage 

• Disk space usage 

• CPU usage 

• RDP login

A. Using the Easy Connect link from the email (make sure you have the Windows App installed on macOS)

1. Download the .RDP file
   In the VPS welcome email, click “Download .RDP File.” 
2. Open the file
   Locate the downloaded file (usually in the Downloads folder) and double-click it. 
3. Enter password
   When prompted, enter the VPS password from the email and click OK. 
4. Certificate warning
   If a certificate warning appears, tick “Don’t ask me again for connections to this computer”, then click Yes. 
5. Access the VPS
   The VPS desktop will open through the Windows App. 

B.  Manual setup on macOS

1. Credentials for setup

   Launch Windows App from Applications or Spotlight. 
4. Add a PC

6. Add user account
   Under User account, click Add user account:
   • Username: Administrator 
   • Password: (copy exactly from email)
     Then click Continue. 
7. Optional: add a friendly name
   In Display name, add a label (e.g., “NYCServers VPS”). 
8. Connect
   Double-click the new PC shortcut. 
9. Accept certificate
   If prompted, click Continue. 
10. Access your desktop
    The VPS desktop will open in a new window. 

Clients will receive a VPS welcome email that includes their login details: 

• VPS IP Address 

• Password (case-sensitive) 

• Username (usually Administrator) 

These credentials will be required to access the service. There are two ways to connect to the VPS: 

   A.   Using the Easy Connect link from the email 

1. Download the Quick Connect Shortcut (.RDP) file
   In the VPS welcome email, click the “Quick Connect Shortcut File” link to download the .RDP file. 
2. Open the file
   Locate the downloaded file (usually in the Downloads folder) and double-click it. 
3. Enter password
   When prompted, enter the VPS password from the email and click OK. 
4. Certificate warning
   If a certificate warning appears, tick “Don’t ask me again for connections to this computer”, then click Yes. 
5. Access the VPS
   The VPS desktop will load in the Remote Desktop window. 

       B.Manually connecting on Windows 

1. After receiving the VPS credentials email, you can use your credentials to set up your VPS. 
2. Open Remote Desktop Connection
   Go to the Windows Start menu → search Remote Desktop Connection → open the app. 
3. Enter VPS IP
   In the Computer field, enter the VPS IP address exactly as shown in the email. 
4. 1. Enter credentials 
   • Username: Administrator 
   • Password: (copy exactly as provided) 
5. Certificate warning 
   If a warning appears, tick “Don’t ask me again for connections to this computer”, then click Yes. 
6. Access the VPS 
   The VPS desktop will appear in the Remote Desktop window. 

Steps to install multiple MT4/MT5 terminals on your VPS: 

1. Open the installer app 

• If the installer (Taurex4setup for MT4 / Taurex5setup for MT5) is not on your desktop, go to Files → Downloads and locate it there. 
• Open the installer on your VPS desktop and click Settings. 

2. Set installation folder 

• Click Installation Folder and add a number at the end of “terminal” to indicate the installation number. 

• Example: “terminal 1” for the first installation. 

• Add the same number next to “terminal” in the Program Group. 
• Click Next to continue with the installation. 

3.Rename desktop shortcut 

• After installation, right-click the new desktop shortcut → select Rename. 
• Enter the same number at the start of the shortcut name to match the installation (e.g., 1 – MT4). 

4. Repeat for additional installations 

• For each new terminal, ensure that the numbers in the Installation Folder, Program Group, and Desktop Shortcut are unique (e.g., “terminal 2”, “terminal 3”, etc.). 

Notes: 

• The process is the same for both MT4 and MT5. 

• Installation numbers must not match any previously installed MT4/MT5 terminals. 

The number of MT4/MT5 terminals you can link depends on your VPS plan: 

• Basic VPS Plan: up to 2 terminals

To ensure optimal performance for trading platforms and EAs, it is recommended to limit extra applications running simultaneously. 

Each VPS comes with a security firewall pre-installed to protect your trading environment. Additionally, we are happy to assist users with configuring additional security measures such as anti-virus software, two-factor authentication and more. 

You can expect approximately 1 ms latency to Taurex MT4 and MT5 trading servers. This ultra-low latency ensures lightning-fast order execution and minimal slippage for your trades. 

You can use a VPS with all our account types: Standard, Zero, Pro, Raw and Cent accounts. 

To qualify for a 6-month free Taurex VPS, clients must be approved by Taurex and have an active trading profile. Eligibility is assessed on a monthly basis (calendar month) and depends on both the account balance and trading volume. 

Criteria for each plan: 

• Basic Plan: Maintain a profile balance of at least $200 and trade a minimum of 5 lots (or 500K notional value). 

• Standard Plan: Maintain a profile balance of at least $5,000 and trade a minimum of 10 lots (or 1M notional value).
